reading bish's words 'One thought I have is that discernment is probably as much about discerning evidences of grace as evidence of error or poor communication' just before king's church weekend away meant i ended up at st paul's morning service. being surprised (read: 'ashamed at own prejudices and personal issues over the very things i'm not liking in the church) at the vicar going round with a microphone asking people to give thanks for personal things, and erecting a parasol and sun-bed and placing some small children on it halfway through his talk. i still haven't conclusively decide anything conclusive about salisbury church. but yeah, good things.
an early evening bike ride. re-discovering places i haven't been since i was 15. re-discovering frustration with family (read: 'annoyed i'd taken us down the wrong path and a tree had chopped a bit out of my leg and i was covered in stings off stinging nettles') i haven't felt since i was about 15 (read: 'maybe 18 or so, but 15 goes better for poetic unity') and desperately praying through the fruit of the spirit against it. it working :)

a tiny but powerful prayer thrown up to Jesus in the toilets on bournemouth beach. the fact that prayer is the answer and not battling through, and the fact that it was answered

a lie-in! i maintain that this is my first proper lie-in for 7 weeks. mother laughed at this statement, but i am always more right than mother.
dins with the fam, and being slated for my driving to and from dins with the fam. a few hours together seems to be a precious thing this summer.

the nice man who said 'bless you' when i sneezed whilst sitting outside the leisure centre in stratford wondering how many kids i'm meant to have with me
knowing i never have to sit outside the leisure centre in stratford and wonder how many kids i'm supposed to have with me ever again
knowing summer stretches out before me (half of it anyway) and wondering what it'll bring

news from the mershe! we're in grey house which is round by the porter's lodge, where grown ups and post-grads and such live! one imagines things might be getting shaken up a bit round there...nice and close to the magnum machine though :)
